James Roddie is included amongst ’10 of Britain’s most exciting landscape photographers’ by The Great Outdoors Magazine.

In this episode I’ll be talking to wildlife photographer James Roddie about his life and work in the Highlands

Based near Inverness, he is a multi award-winning professional photographer.

As the director of Black Isle Nature Photography – leading wildlife and landscape photography workshops around the Scottish Highlands. James runs Scotland’s most popular daylight pine marten hide.

His work has received numerous national awards. He has had category-wins in both the British Wildlife Photography Awards and The Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year, along with numerous other awarded images in competitions such as Landscape Photographer of the Year and the British Life Photography Awards.

James is a regular contributor to some of the UK’s most respected photography publications. He has have shot images for and written articles on a wide range of subjects – from wildlife camera-trapping and mountain landscape photography, to long-distance backpacking, caving and ice climbing.

James’ work is largely outdoors based and he works with a wide variety of clients, ranging from authors, magazine editors and marine conservation charities, to the British Army.
