Back by popular demand, Alex Roddie returns to Outside In podcast to chat about what he’s been up to lately. Alex is an outdoor writer and editor specialising in the great outdoors. He’s a regular writer for The Great Outdoors magazine and is editor of Sidetracked adventure journal.

In this episode, Alex chats a bit more about his upcoming book The Farthest Shore, out with Vertebrate Publishing in September 2021. This book tells the story of his winter journey between Ardnamurchan Point and Cape Wrath, roughly following the classic Cape Wrath Trail, and what it was like to leave the internet behind for the duration of the hike. We also talk a bit about the publication process – particularly what goes into creating a cover design. There are more factors at play than you might expect.
